THE FOUNDATION OF MEDIA RAPPORT

Cornerstone #4: Respect > Deadlines

If you think you have rigid timelines, try being a journalist. Many reporters have deadlines that are daily or weekly, but there are some who are asked to write a story or produce a segment for the evening news with only a couple hours notice. Respecting the deadlines of journalists is important. You also need to understand that when a reporter provides you a deadline for getting information, commentary, or opinion to them, you need to meet that deadline.
